Another Thanksgiving
It’s the day after the famous American holiday, Thanksgiving. Based on all the Facebook images in my feed this morning, looks like so many have wonderful times celebrated with family and friends. that makes me happy to see so many smiling faces enjoying fabulous food prepared to share, along with family traditions, both old and new. I can say that we made the rounds of eating two turkey dinners that seriously made my happy at the moment and then way to full to the point of almost being sick. I’m sure that I’m not the only one feeling this way, as I reach for another round of Tums.
Thanksgiving is day of celebrating families and those friends close to us. Just one day. It seems that we shouldn’t need a day to remember to be nice and share time with family. We should be grateful every day but with all the negative influences in this world, it can be very hard to take a deep breath to be grateful for what we have versus feel disappointment because what we don’t have.
Yesterday, I spend some time sending short text messages to the people in my life than make a difference daily. You know those people, the ones that check on you often and wish to be a part of your success. Those people are your tribe. The tribal mentality of support for others to push forward towards a goal is nothing new. It’s been a staple of humanity’s survival, be it a small group of creatives or a large group fighting for a common cause.
today, I challenge you to find your tribe and check it daily. Hold each other accountable and push forward with gentle coaching. It’s true that no one person is successful without the sacrifice of many. Be sure to thank them.
Enjoy the day after Thanksgiving, officially known in my house as “Tums Day”!
