Trust Your Gut! (Randy + Allison)
Allison and I had been neighbors for years. I was a single mom and she and her family lived down the street. We knew each other in passing because our kids were close in age. We ended up moving to a new neighborhood so I pretty much Facebook stalked her for the last 8 or so years. I watched as the kids grew older and saw how she took charge of her health and made a physical and mental change. She also had to navigate being a single parent and learn to co-parent her kids. When she contacted me and asked if we shot weddings, instantaneously I had a feeling in my gut that this was one wedding we HAD to shoot.
Over a fantastic latte at Vacca Territory, we chatted about the kids and got caught up on everything that had happened in both our lives over the last few years. She told me about her fiancé, Randy, his family and how they excepted her and hers as their own. We went over all the details of her wedding including why they chose the McGranahan Barn and the special details of the ceremony. As I set across the table and listened to her talk, I couldn’t quite put my finger on it at the time, but something was different about her. Yes, physically she had changed, she had made a choice to become physically active, eat healthily and become fit and fabulous. But there was something different about her on a deeper level.
The day finally arrived and, to say the least, it was everything she hoped for and more. The venue was amazing! The barn provided a perfect break from the Oklahoma wind that was sweeping down the plains and all the people most important to them were there to celebrate. Alison found the perfect dress from Davids Bridal, to say she looked amazing is an understatement. Jaclyn Davis did her makeup and it was legit on point. The flowers provided by Marie with McGrannahan Barn were the perfect complement and I have had a lot of experience with wedding cake and Mishelle’s Cakes knocked it out of the park. As she turned to walk down the aisle and I saw how she looked at Randy’s, I knew in an instant what was so different about my friend.
Mr. and Mrs. Randy Poeling congratulations and thank you for letting us be a small part of your perfect day.
Allison… happy looks good on you my friend.
Hugs,
Terri & Rob
