OKC Yard Dawgz Lose to Wranglers

OKLAHOMA CITY- The Yard Dawgz hosted the Austin Wranglers on Sunday, April 27th, in front of 6,450 fans and were defeated 27-57.
The Wranglers received the ball and took advantage of the first session of the game when they scored on a 4 yard pass from QB Andy Hall to WR Mel Long. The Dawgz offense answered back and evened the score on a 29 yd pass from QB Evan Gray to WR Al Hunt. Each team scored once more to finish the quarter and due to a missed extra point by the Wranglers, the Dawgz took an early 14-13 lead.
Oklahoma City struggled to get their offense in sync and were held scoreless the second quarter. Austin took advantage of several Yard Dawgz miscues and scored three times, bringing the score at halftime to 14-33, Austin.
The Wranglers continued to dominate in the second half. The Dawgz only score in the third quarter came from a 5 yard run by QB Gray. Wranglers QB, Hall, completed two passes to WR John Roberson for touchdowns and kicker Keita Iizuka’s field goal brought the score at the end of the third quarter to 20-50, Austin.
In the fourth quarter, Austin held the Dawgz to only 7 points and scored once, bringing the final to 27-57. Offensive Player of the Game, Andy Hall, went 32-22-1 for 309 yards and 6 TDs. Austin also won the other Player of the Week awards; Ricky Williams (JLS Ironman), Sean Henley (Cutters Catch of the Game); and Demetrie McCray (ADT Defensive Player of the Game).
