2015 RFBO Chefs' Feast Night

What an evening!  Each year the staff from the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma pushes the limits of activities and opportunities to help fight hungry in our state.  This year's Space theme for the 28th Annual Chefs' Feast was no different.  This year was the seventh year to handle the official photography.  Kudos to all the people that planned, participated and volunteered to make this night a success.

Everyone helped us raise more than $145,000 in net proceeds for the Regional Food Bank’s Food for Kids programs.  One in four children in Oklahoma struggles with hunger because of inconsistent access to food. The Regional Food Bank’s Food for Kids programs provided more than 2.7 million meals to more than 31,000 chronically hungry children last fiscal year.

The Food for Kids Backpack Program provides chronically hungry elementary school students a backpack full of kid-friendly, nutritious food every Friday. Last year, the Regional Food Bank served more than 18,500 students in 501 schools in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties.  
One of the Food for Kids school coordinators recently shared the following story about the importance of the Backpack program: 

“Three children in our community were referred to the Backpack Program.  The children's family struggles each month to pay bills, and after a death in the family the financial stress mounted.  The two siblings have performed better in class since being on the program.”

We believe in giving back to the community through our photography talents and we are always humbled by the other photographers that selflessly donate their time to pitch in.  This year, we are proud to have the talent from Jim Felder (Jim Felder Photography & Design), Vanessa Wells (Vanessa Wells Images) & Jennifer Tiffany (Jen Tiffany Photography).
