Where was the first Boudoir photoshoot done, and by whom.....?

Thank you Sarah for the perfect question to start out this new blog series with! Your question: Where was the first Boudoir photoshoot done, and by whom? After a little research, I have an answer or at least part of one.... these are just the highlights....

Boudoir has been around for ever.... no seriously..... from as far back as we are able to trace humans we have discovered carvings, inscriptions, paintings statues etc... of the female form. The Venus and Aphrodite were symbols of the female forms and were displayed, admired and worshiped for centuries. In most ancient civilizations idealistic images of the female form, although they varied according to what was considered of great beauty in each culture, have been admired, recreated and even worshiped.

For the History of the first Boudoir Photograph, we really only have to look not to long after the first recorded photography....

The first recorded photograph was taken in 1826...

World’s first photograph

The grainy picture above is the world’s first photograph called “View from the Window at Le Gras” (circa 1826), taken and developed by French photographer pioneer Joseph Nicéphore Niépce. He called this process “heliography” or sun drawing – it certainly was a long process: the exposure time was about 8 hours. (.... from wikipedia)

True to Human nature.. lol... a mear 9 ears later... we ended up with this... (the person who took the photograph has been lost to history though..)

So as I said it has been around not only from the beginning of photography but from ancient times too.... wow who'd a thunk it...

I have to admit this question made me a bit nervous but I really surprised at the amount of info out there.... my motto in life... when all else fails.. google it!

Thanks for playing...
