The Great MAPSYM Show of 2019

The Basin Hotel at night with uplighting

This workshop series and convention help bi-annually in Eureka Spring, Arkansas is jammed packed full with activities.  From workshops, photowalks to hands-on demos all around the streets and area of this historical place.  If you are reading this in 2019, you will have to sign up for the 2021 sessions.  Be sure to follow their website for upcoming events and registration.  MAPSYM should be on your education destination list!

It was an  honor to be representing Bedford Camera & Video as one of their ambassadors and invited to speak for the pre-convention class and break-out sessions.  Of course, I took the opportunity to bring along Jim Felder to run our FotoFacts Podcast setup for some interviews.

Photowalk in the streets of Eureka Springs at night

One of out favorite recurring speakers  Don Hamilton, a skilled wildlife photographer, speaker and travel guide.  Be sure to check out his upcoming events on his website: Don Hamilton Photography. He brought along Travis McConnaghy from  Hahnemühle USA  to chat about in importance of printing and new papers available at Bedford Camera & Video stores.  Check out the Photo Rag 380 paper!

I made some new friends to add to the photo tribe, Annette Sentell and Ken Martin.  Of course, there are many more that will pop up after the convention and hopefully get added to the Voxer Group Chat for sharing information.

Here are some of the images from the weekend.  I would love to hear your comments or share links to more images you captured during the convention.

Did I mention our little tribe photographed a newly wed couple? Oh yes we did! Crazy things happen around Eureka Springs when you have a camera handy!
