Day trip to Red Rock!
Hello There!
So if you reading this you somehow found our Ruby the Subie website...
Hi, I am Terri and I am Ruby’s person. Hasn’t 2020 has been a banner year for us all? I am sure that more of my experiences with this year will come out in time if you follow us through our adventures. For know, trust me there is so much more to this blog, and Ruby the Subie is so much more than just a car.
So buckle up, and let the adventure begin. (did you see what I did there... buckle up)
For our first official road test.... we decided to take a drive out to one of our favorite places for fall family portraits to do some scouting. It is a small park about an hour west of OKC in the town of Hinton. Until recently, Red Rock Canyon was a state park but it is now in private hands and it is is one of Oklahoma's hidden gems and a beautiful little day escape from the city. With all the rain we have had recently, everything was so green and lush and contrasted so beautifully with the tall sandstone canyon walls. It was quiet and you can never beat the smell of a campfire.
Red rocks “canteen” camp social has awesome snow cones and our new friend Meredith told us about some of the plans the new owners have for the park. It is so exciting to here there plans while your there make sure and check out their Glamping Tent pop up tent for the kiddos!
If you are a coffee lover stop buy Brew 92 in Hinton. Great coffee, with an amazing atmosphere and staff! (For all you non-coffee people.... they have other stuff too... just saying). OH...... I almost forgot Loft House 22 is the coolest little clothing boutique. Just remember they are closed on Sunday, Ruby and I found that out the hard way...
Enjoy a few pics and more to come.....
Love Peace and Subarus
Terri
